From grassroots football to the professional elite
With over 20 years of experience coaching in every tier of Spanish football except the First Division, and having managed more than 650 650 official matches, Lolo Escobar forged his coaching career through hard work and results, achieving promotions to Primera Regional and Regional Preferente (with FC Villanueva del Pardillo), Tercera División (with AD Unión Adarve and Las Rozas CF), and Segunda División B (with Las Rozas CF).
His outstanding work and dazzling combinative style in the Second B Division managing Las Rozas CF and Salamanca UDS, with the latter achieving a miraculous survival after losing only 2 out of 18 matches, opened the doors to the second tier of professional football, making his debut in the Second Division (LaLiga Hypermotion) with CD Mirandés, where he managed 27 matches, not including his participation in the Copa del Rey.

He later managed other historic teams in Spanish football, once again securing a challenging survival for Hércules CF in the Segunda RFEF and qualifying the team for the Copa del Rey. He achieved key objectives in the Primera RFEF with Algeciras CF, and delivered an outstanding first half of the season with CD Lugo during which the team ranked among the best defensively in the league.
A passionate analyst of the game, Lolo meticulously works on every phase, leaving no aspect overlooked: organized defense, transitions, positional attack, and set pieces.
His extensive experience and tactical expertise, built on methodological rigor and creative innovation, enable him to adapt to the unique characteristics of each squad. He develops, motivates, and enhances his players both tactically and technically, achieving their highest level of progress and performance.
Considering individual and collective effort as a non-negotiable principle, Lolo has built highly competitive teams capable of playing attractive and effective football, as he demonstrated with Las Rozas, Salamanca UDS, and Mirandés. He has also forged defensively solid teams that build their play from the back, as shown during his time at Algeciras CF and CD Lugo.
Charismatic and versatile coach, Lolo Escobar has consistently demonstrated his ability to read the game, anticipate opponents, and change the course of matches through precise tactical adjustments. His work has earned him well-deserved recognition in the Spanish professional football realm, where the solidity, competitiveness, and tactical richness of his teams are highly valued, making them capable of mastering various styles and becoming particularly tough opponents to beat.
Since the beginning of his career, Lolo has relied heavily on the fundamental collaboration of his brother José Escobarworks as the fitness coach in all of Lolo Escobar’s projects. His highly skilled and meticulous approach has been essential in giving teams outstanding physical conditioning, enabling them to compete with intensity from the first to the final whistle. Thanks to this top-level physical preparation, teams led by Lolo Escobar also stand out for their resilience, fighting spirit, and commitment, remaining strong under demanding conditions and in the decisive stages of each match.

«I always try to define what playing well means to me, from the five phases of the game:
In defensive transition, I like a team that, when they lose the ball, quickly tries to press, that does a very strong counter-pressing;
en transición ofensiva me gusta que siempre que el equipo tenga la oportunidad de correr esa sea la primera opción;
In organized attack, I would like the team, if they can't run, not to just clear the ball, not to be afraid to make one more pass, and to try to create fatigue for the opponent through possession, being as adaptable as possible;
In organized defense, I like order, I really like tactical discipline, you can't build anything on something that isn't order, and I believe order is what gives us everything else;
And when it comes to strategy, experience has taught me that with the level of equality there is in all categories, with all teams being very close in preparation, set-piece strategies are decisive. I place a lot of importance on strategy.»

«I like teams that are joyful, that try to have the ball, and that don’t underestimate any phase of the game.
A team that wants to be important must have the same respect for the offensive as for the defensive, for transitions, for set pieces, absolutely everythingo.»
«I would like my team to be as brave as possible, also taking into account the difficulty of the category, the opponents, the fields, all of that will influence how we plan the match.»

«I like my teams to be bold. I try to make our team, within our possibilities, dominant in all the phases of the game that we can or that the opponent allows us. I don't like a team that only works on defending and counterattacking».
LOLO ESCOBAR
«Football is such a wonderful thing that it is open to surprises, to anything happening, and that’s what you work for every day. My goal is to reach the first matchday with the ambition to win, to get those three points, and that is the goal we need to focus on.»

«Creo en el día a día por encima de todo, sin hacer planes de futuro. Me apasiona mi trabajo, me encanta, es algo que desde pequeño he mamado porque mi padre era entrenador».
